The children of the House of Flowers, especially the older ones like Nadia in the picture below, have become masters of making classic symmetrical flowery Afghan designs called miniatures that they often use to decorate their pages of writing and poetry.

You can try your hand at it! Below is a black-and-white version that the children made for you, left uncolored so you can do the fun part yourself. Just right-click on the image and select “Copy image” . Then you can “Paste” it into a new Word document, and adjust the size. Print it out, color it, and enjoy!
